Why We Started Red Paw Co
Red Paw Co began in 2026 on the Gold Coast, Queensland, not in a boardroom, but on a living room floor watching our own dogs struggle with something a belly rub couldn't fix. Arthritis had crept into their joints, and we watched them hesitate at the bottom of the stairs, wince when they stood up, and slow down on walks they used to love. We tried the usual things, but nothing gave them real, lasting relief.
That frustration turned into research, and research turned into red light therapy. We started looking into how veterinary rehabilitation clinics were already using specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support joint comfort and mobility in dogs recovering from injury or living with chronic conditions like arthritis. We wanted that same kind of support available at home, without a clinic visit every time our dogs had a rough day.
Built With Our Own Dogs In Mind
Every product we make is tested on the dogs we love first. We know what it is like to sit on the floor coaxing a nervous senior dog to stay still for ten minutes, so we designed our wraps and mats to be as comfortable, quiet, and easy to use as possible, because if our own dogs would not tolerate it, we would not sell it.
The Technology Behind It
Red Paw Co devices use the same wavelengths of red and near-infrared light studied in veterinary rehabilitation settings for supporting circulation, easing stiffness, and helping dogs stay comfortable as they age or recover from activity. Many owners also tell us the gentle warmth has a calming effect, helping anxious or restless dogs settle during stressful moments like storms, car rides, or vet visits, so our products support not just sore joints but everyday anxiety too. We believe in being upfront about what light therapy can and cannot do. It is not a miracle cure, but for many dogs it is a gentle, drug-free way to help them move a little easier.
